Victorian 14ct Gold Natural Pearl & Ruby, Navette Ring
An exquisite antique pearl & ruby navette ring from the Victorian period, Circa 1880. Beautifully made with a central, square-cut ruby surrounded by fourteen pearls mounted in a yellow gold crown setting with wide decorative shoulders tapering to a slim shank.
The pearls measure approximately 2.5mm in diameter and are a pale silver-cream with purple hues. The width of the ring is 22.5mm and length across the finger is 10.5mm (cluster).
The Victorians often designed jewellery with hidden meanings and sentimental messages. Rubies represented passion and pearls for purity.
