SOLD - Art Nouveau, 9ct Gold Amethyst, Turquoise & Seed Pearl Lace/Fichu Pin, Brooch

Fabulous Victorian brooch beautifully made in 9carat gold, featuring a large 17 x 14mm, faceted Amethyst "Rose de France" gemstone, mounted in a bezel setting. The Amethyst is surrounded by a turquoise and pearl, decorated scallop edged frame. Complete with T-bar and C- clasp fitting. Antique brooches tend to have a longer pin, (that extends further than the brooch) this is due to the weight and thickness of the garments worn during this period.

A lovely example from the Art Nouveau era.  The Amethyst is a beautiful lilac colour and has an estimated carat weight of: 12 carats
