SOLD - Edwardian 9ct Gold Garnet & Diamond Crescent Moon necklace

A romantic antique necklace featuring a crescent moon embellished with thirteen, garnet gemstones and twelve, twinkling rose-cut diamonds.

The gorgeous pink-red rhodolite garnets graduate in size with the largest central stone measuring 4mm down to the smallest measuring 1.4mm.

This stunning piece has been converted from a brooch with the addition of a 9ct yellow gold trace link chain connected to the crescent by bails at each end.

Crescent jewellery was often gifted by a groom to his bride on their honeymoon, with the crescent representing a new chapter in their lives as husband and wife!
