SOLD - Edwardian Gold, Black Enamel, Pearl & Hair Mourning Ring
An early Edwardian gypsy style mourning ring featuring a central, black enamel section mounted with a central pearl set in a square frame. On either side of the pearl is a delicate flower design, each mounted with three, tiny seed pearls.
Behind the head of the ring there is a tiny oval hair section secured with a clear glass fixture. All mounted in 9ct yellow gold with a slightly tapered thick shank.
Hallmarked as follows: Shield (Chester assay office), 9/375 (denotes 9ct gold), A (date letter for 1901-2), along with the Maker's mark WGM (Walter George Matthews).
This sweet and sentimental ring is in a good condition, there is some slight wear to the central pearl which is not unusual considering its age.
