SOLD - Edwardian Gold, Opal & Diamond Crescent necklace
A gorgeous antique necklace featuring a 15ct gold crescent moon embellished with nine, mesmerising opals and eighteen, twinkling rose-cut diamonds.
The opals display a lively play of colour, including oranges, purples, greens and blues. They graduate in size with the central opal measuring 5mm, graduating down to 2.5mm.
This stunning piece has been converted from a brooch with the addition of a 9ct yellow gold trace link chain connected to the crescent by bails at each point.
Crescent jewellery was often gifted by a groom to his bride on their honeymoon, with the crescent representing a new chapter in their life as husband and wife!
