SOLD - Edwardian Platinum & Natural Seed Pearl Chain, 17" / 43.5cm


A beautiful, dainty Edwardian platinum & natural Basra pearl chain with barrel clasp. This pretty antique chain features eleven, 3 to 3.5mm natural pearls connected with platinum wire at approximately 1 inch intervals on a rolo link platinum chain. Complete with barrel clasp.

Tiny natural pearls originating from India were used extensively in antique jewellery. Many of the pearls used were from the Pinctada radiata oyster found in the Persian Gulf, the Red seas and Sri Lanka.

Pearl is the traditional birthstone for June.
