SOLD - Georgian 15ct Rose Gold Pearl, Hair Mourning, Memorial Brooch, 1819


A quality Georgian high carat rose gold, natural pearl mourning brooch, featuring a central locket / panel containing brunette plaited hair surrounded by a frame of half natural pearls, with a gold rope edge and a plain gold outer frame. The central panel has a domed rock crystal / glass panel.
On the reverse is the following inscription:

A surname (indecipherable)
Ob 16 ???
1819 Obt 40

The pearls have a lovely thick nacre and are a silvery colour with purple tones.
Complete with metal pin and T-bar and C-Clasp fitting.
