Rare, Rock Crystal & seed pearl Edwardian fringe necklace

Edwardian Rock Crystal & Seed Pearl Fringe Necklace – A Rare Beauty from the Belle Époque

Delicate, elegant, and steeped in history, this Edwardian fringe necklace is a timeless piece, most likely once worn by a young debutante during her first glittering social season.

Strung with luminous natural seed pearls, the design features 13 faceted rock crystal drops (each measuring approx. 8–8.5mm) that shimmer softly with every movement, forming an ethereal fringe that dances across the collarbone.

A classic 9k gold barrel clasp provides a warm, secure finishing touch.

Measuring 18.5 inches / 47 cm, it sits beautifully along the neckline—perfect for layering or wearing as a romantic standalone statement.

While gemstone and seed pearl fringe necklaces are often found set with Amethyst or Citrine, examples featuring Rock Crystal are far more rare and difficult to come by.

Tiny natural pearls from India were used extensively in antique Jewellery.  Many of the pearls used were from the Pinctada radiata oyster found in the Persian Gulf, the Red seas and Sri Lanka.
