SOLD - Victorian 9ct Rose Gold and Pearl Heart Promise Ring

A 'sweet and petite' promise ring with a single, seed pearl mounted in a star setting on a heart-shaped plaque, all mounted onto a double band and crafted in 9ct rose gold.

During the Victorian period, promise rings (sometimes referred to as friendship rings) were often gifted to a romantic partner as a declaration of commitment to a monogamous relationship. Nowadays promise rings are still hugely popular and can have multiple meanings. They can be gifted as a friendship ring, worn as a chastity ring, or even worn as a promise ring to oneself for such reasons as cutting out an addiction, acting as a reminder to resist temptation!
