Victorian 14ct Gold, Peridot & Rose-Cut Diamond Brooch
This fine, antique brooch was beautifully made around the late Victorian period. At the centre of the brooch is a fine, 13x9mm peridot gemstone, mounted in a gold collet setting. The peridot is surrounded by an open worked foliate and scalloped design frame, decorated with forty twinkling rose cut diamonds set in silver. Complete with gold pin and trombone style clasp.
Hallmarks: there are four hallmarks on the pin (undeciperable) the brooch is believed to be Austro-hungarian. Tested as 14ct gold.
The peridot is a beautiful 'lime green' colour, with an estimated carat weight of 4.50cts. There are forty diamonds with a total carat weight of approx 0.48cts. Total gemstone weight: 4.48cts.
