SOLD - Victorian 9ct, rose gold Garnet & Pearl ring by JW, dated 1882
A fine example from the Victorian era, this sweet ring has three rows of gemstones all set in a rose gold crimped setting. The top and bottom rows each have four faceted purple garnets, with five seed pearls in the centre row. The shoulders have been intricately hand-engraved with a pretty foliate design which continues all the way around the shank.
This ring is in a fantastic condition considering its age. There is no evidence of resizing, the hallmarks are clear and the engraving around the shank is fully intact.
Complete with full set of crisp hallmarks as follows: JW (makers initials) 9. 375 (denotes 9carat gold), anchor (Birmingham assay mark) h (date letter for 1882)
The head of the ring measures 14mm in length and 8.5mm wide.
