SOLD - Vintage 9ct Gold Multi-Gemstone Acrostic 'Dearest' Ring

A fabulous, Victorian inspired 9ct gold acrostic ring featuring a diamond, two emeralds, an amethyst, a ruby, a sapphire, and a (green) tourmaline. In the order that the gemstones are mounted, the first letter of each stone spells out the word 'dearest'.

Along with this ring's heartfelt, hidden message is the alluring combination of it colourful gemstones. They are all round-cut, each measuring approximately 2.3mm

Fully hallmarked as follows: a rose (Sheffield assay office), a crown/375 (denotes 9ct gold), R (date letter for 1991). Along with a maker's mark.

Acrostic rings were popular in the Victorian era as sentimental jewellery. They became cherished tokens of love and affection, reflecting the era's focus on personal expression and using jewellery to convey emotion. Acrostic rings were often worn as a discreet but intimate reminder of a cherished bond.

This sentimental piece would also make a great anniversary or stacker ring!
