SOLD - Vintage, petite 9ct Gold Bloodstone signet, pinky ring
Small but mighty, this mid century signet ring features an oval bloodstone plaque mounted in a collet setting with wide shoulders tapering to a strong shank. The bloodstone is a deep forest-green colour and displays a fabulous speckling of red jasper.
The head of the ring measures 12 x 10.4 mm (main oval section) the bloodstone measures 8.5x7mm
Hallmarked: 9, 375 (denotes 9carat gold) T (date letter for 1968) anchor (Birmingham assay mark) & makers mark: PPLD (Payton, Pepper & Sons Ltd).
Bloodstone, along with Aquamarine, is the traditional birthstone for the month of March. Bloodstone (also knows as heliotrope) is a deep green chalcedony and the small red dots are red jasper.
Please note the measurements of this ring, although we can resize if required, it is very small and designed to wear on the pinky finger!
