SOLD - Antique Ruby Diamond & Pearl Star Stick Pin in Original Box
A rare and beautifully detailed antique ruby, diamond and pearl star stick pin, preserved in its original fitted presentation box. Elegant and finely crafted, this exceptional jewel combines precious gemstones with exquisite workmanship, making it a wonderful addition to any collection of antique jewellery.
The head of the pin measures 9.5 x 10mm and is designed as an intricate star motif. A platinum-mounted triangle set with seventeen sparkling rose-cut diamonds is interwoven with a yellow gold triangle set with calibre-cut rubies, together forming a striking six-pointed star design. The arrangement bears a resemblance to the Star of David and is also reminiscent of designs associated with Masonic star symbolism, giving the piece a distinctive and intriguing appearance. At its centre rests a lustrous natural pearl, adding softness and elegance to the geometric arrangement.
Adding to its desirability, the stick pin remains housed in its original antique box, complete with printed silk lining reading:
"By Appointment Catchpole & Williams, 510 Oxford Street, London, W."
Catchpole & Williams was an eminent firm of high-end retail jewellers, goldsmiths, and silversmiths based in London, operating from the mid-19th century until the mid-20th century. They were highly regarded for their fine antique silver, diamond tiaras, and natural pearl jewelry, ultimately earning the prestige of a Royal Warrant as silversmiths to the King.
The pin is hallmarked for 18ct gold together with additional hallmarks, as shown in the photographs.
A charming and increasingly rare survivor, this antique stick pin would make a wonderful addition to a collection of Victorian jewellery, antique gentleman's accessories, Masonic-related jewellery, Star of David jewellery, or star-themed jewellery.
