Art Nouveau, 9ct Gold & Pearl floral, daisy lavaliere necklace
An exquisite Edwardian pearl necklace, made during the Art Nouveau period. Inspired by nature, this pretty necklace features a central daisy section with a delicate leaf drop. Flanked by scrolled floral designed links, all mounted with tiny, bright seed pearls mounted in a rich, yellow gold setting.
The pearl mounted centre piece measures 5 x 2.5cm and is connected to a gold rolo link chain, complete with a bolt ring clasp (later addition).
Perfect for a wedding or pearl wedding anniversary!
Pearl is the traditional birthstone for June.
The name Lavalier (also spelt lavalier or lavallière) derived from the name of the Duchesse de La Vallière (1644-1710), one of the mistresses of Louis XIV, who favoured this style of necklace.
