SOLD - Edwardian Opal & Rock Crystal Necklace with clasp

Dating to the early 1900s, this captivating necklace features a row of graduated, genuine opal beads which have been alternated with faceted rock crystal rondelles. All beautifully strung onto a 9ct white gold oval fish hook clasp designed with a foliate pattern.

The largest opal bead measures 8.5mm and graduates in size down to a 4mm opal. The opaque beads are in a fantastic condition considering that they are over 100 years old! They display a mesmerising play-of-colour and rainbow flashes that come alive as the light hits from different angles.

The length of the necklace is 15.5" / 39.5cm, (this can be lengthened by connecting a short length of gold chain if needed - please contact us for more information)
