SOLD - Edwardian 'Rose De France" Amethyst & Natural Pearl Fringe Necklace, 9ct Chain
Dated around the Late Victorian, Early Edwardian era, this antique necklace is intricately made with a row of tiny basra pearls, suspended from the pearls are seven, oval faceted Amethyst gemstones, attached with gold wire.
Each tiny pearl measures between 2 - 2.5mm and has been hand drilled by skilled jewellers. These stunning Amethyst 'Rose de France" gemstones are beautifully matched in a vibrant, light purple colour. The Amethyst each measure approx 10 x 14mm and have a combined carat weight of around 40.00 carats.
A jaw dropping necklace! each of the Amethyst drops, glisten and dance as the light reflects against the many facets. These necklaces would have no doubt graced the neck of a young lady at her debutante ball.
Originally a short 16' necklace, a piece of gold chain has been added to lengthen the necklace to 19.5" - we can adjust to any length (please contact us for more details).
Amethyst is the traditional birthstone for February.
Pearl is the traditional birthstone for June.
