Victorian 15ct Gold Hair Mourning Ring/Band with inscription


A Rare, Victorian hair mourning band in 15ct yellow gold with alternating sections of hairwork and engraved gold patterns. The intricate hand engravings feature floral and geometric designs along with the initials E.S. to the face of the ring. The hair sections have been carefully braided displaying an impressive craftsmanship of the time.

The inside of the ring has been inscribed with the scripture 'E.S. who died April 23rd 1891'.

Full of history and sentiment, this special piece was crafted as a token of remembrance for a dearly departed. It is in a very good antique condition and has evidently been well cared for over the past century.
